Dear David Toler:

I am finalizing everything from the Annual Golf Tournament, and I would be remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to express my deepest appreciation to you and your staff. We in Akron started organizing this event well over a year ago before you and your present staff began. We were a bit apprehensive of the change in the middle of our organization of this event. But after meeting with you and your staff our fears were comforted.

This was only the beginning. Working with you over the past six months has been a true pleasure. Your personality has obviously be contagious with your staff. Since we began working together I have had the pleasure to work with the friendliest people, everyone from the front desk to yourself. I have had the pleasure to work closely with yourself and Kim Wojno.

Brenda in reservations was always pleasant and eager to correct all of my mistakes. As events go this was the largest the Akron Firefighters have ever undertaken. You and your staff really made this easier then it should ever had been. With almost 500 people in your hotel I expected problem after problem to arise, but nothing ever happened that wasn't corrected immediately.

I made sure I was readily available to be a buffer between the firefighters and your staff. But in reality this was not needed. If this is indeed the norm for your establishment then the City of Akron is truly blessed to have you in Akron. I'm still three weeks after the event receiving e-mails about the tremendous time everyone had in Akron. Were talking about people from California to Boston, Montreal to Miami. You and your staff started it off with how they treated the firefighters and it became contagious and carried over for the entire week.

In closing I can only thank you for all your hard work. (You personally did every job imaginable, in fact I think I saw you washing dishes on the banquet night) If nothing else came from this event I know I made a couple of new friends and for that I thank you. The most important thing in life is how you are treated; you and your staff treated each and every person tremendously!

Dear Mr. Finley

The Ohio Army National Guard had the pleasure of utilizing you facility to host our annual Recruiting and Retention Awards Banquet on January 13, 2001. I want to take the time to commend the fine effort and professionalism displayed by your staff. Most noteworthy were the efforts of your Executive Chef, Robert Romback, Catering Manager, Katherine Henges and Sales Manager, Karrie Dettling. Without their assistance our program would not have been as successful. I comment you for choosing such excellent and efficient members of your staff, it would be something that only a true leader of a fine team can provide. Consider finding a way to match their talents and efforts in a way that is respectful of their talents.

I know full well that a team is only as good as its weakest link and you have every reason to praise your employees for their tireless efforts. During our event we used over 90 room nights, two meeting rooms and your Main Ballroom. Your employees yielded the The Akron City Centre Hotel over $15,000 in services during our one day event. Please take a moment and pass on my sincere appreciation for their efforts.

Dear Kim

Many, Many thanks for all you time and effort in making our 60th Suprise Birthday a huge success. Everything was perfect! The guest of honor was shocked, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was elegantly beautiful and we are very grateful to you and the staff at the The Akron City Centre Hotel. Early this morning, the guest of honor said “I feel like this whole weekend is a dream”. Your assessment of our needs and desires were right on target as were your suggestions and advice. Everyone had a wonderful time and was extremely impressed with your facility and service!!

Planners for a 60th Suprise Birthday

I wanted to thank you and your excellent staff for the great job you all did on the SummitCARES Campaign Party on November 7. We were all delighted with the food, its presentation and service. If only could have made sure we won our election, the evening would have been perfect!

Dear Mr. Finley:

Even though I have a ton of things to get ready for my classes that are starting for the spring semester, I was so happy with the treatment at the The Akron City Centre Hotel Hotel Akron City Centre Hotel that I had to take time to write.

Thank you very much. Our Association for the Education of Teachers in Science convention on January 6-9 was a huge success, due to no small measure to the prompt, professional services provided by your personnel. Every request was quickly and efficiently met. The service was excellent. All of you personnel were exceedingly pleasant.

As co-chairperson for our AETS convention for approximately 325 people, I would be glad for you to use us as a references to other conventions. If your service to us is an indicator, then others are in for a treat.
